The idea for Little Floomans came from my heart for my best friend and her new baby and she convinced me to share it with the world.
She was having a baby girl around Christmas last year and I decided to make her a gift that combined our love of flowers and gardening with the arrival of her first baby. As a long-time graphic designer, I knew I wanted to create something that both she and the baby would love for years to come and when she looked at it, she would be reminded of how much she means to me.
I was playing around with flowers and kids in different scenes and poses and I randomly moved a bright bouquet over the top of a toddler girl and something made me stop there. I recall laughing at the abstract nature of the picture - it just looked cute and pretty and funny and staring at it just made me feel joy.
I went to a local printer and had it printed and I went to a local framer and had it framed and I gave it to her at the baby shower. She cried. And I cried. She laughed. And I laughed. And now the picture hangs on the wall next to the crib and sometimes the baby just lays there and smiles.
I decided to create a series of these pictures and make them available to everyone to enjoy. I hope they bring as much joy into your life and into your friends' lives as they have brought into mine.
Enjoy Little Floomans - flowers and little humans!
